SENATOR MAZUREK NAMED GRAND MARSHALL FOR MAINE LOBSTER FESTIVAL PARADE
AUGUSTA – Democratic Senator Ed Mazurek of Rockland has been named the Grand Marshal for the 2014 Maine Lobster Festival parade.
“I am honored to be selected to be a part of this great Maine celebration,” said Senator Mazurek. “The lobster festival represents some of the best our coastal communities have to offer.”
This year the theme of the festival will be “Lobster Livin’ – the Families Behind the Industry.” The theme is meant to represent not just the families of who live with fishermen/fisherwomen, but also the industry itself as a family, from bait suppliers to trap makers and everyone who makes the lobster a great industry in Maine.
“Ed Mazurek has been a much-loved teacher, coach, city councilor, mayor, state representative, and senator,” said Chuck Kruger, President of the Maine Lobster Festival. “The Maine Lobster Festival is all about community, and we are thrilled to honor him as a friend and public servant.”
The parade will take place on Saturday, August 2. This year will be the 67th annual festival, and will run fromJuly 30-August 3.
