Senator Sullivan to Serve on Task Force on Early Post-Secondary Access
AUGUSTA – Under Executive Order from Governor Paul LePage, Senator Nancy Sullivan (D – York County) has been appointed to serve as a member on the Expanding Early Post-Secondary Access for High School Students in Maine Task Force.
The Order establishes a 19 person task force to develop recommendations for short-term and long-term solutions for expanding access to early post-secondary opportunities for high school students around the state. The group will also identify barriers to access along with possible solutions.
Senator Sullivan was appointed by the President of the Senate, Kevin Raye (R – Washington County).
“As a recently retired teacher, I can tell you that our schools are missing some of our children,” said Sullivan. “We all learn at a different level and pace and it is important we address this as part of improving access to early post-secondary education.”
“There are many questions to be answered and I look forward to being a part of the solution,” added Sullivan.
Senator Nancy Sullivan taught for 28 years in Maine and is the State Senator for Senate District 4, which includes Arundel, Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, and most of Biddeford. At the State House, Senator Sullivan serves on the Government Oversight, Marine Resources, and State and Local Government Committees.
