Spectrum Generations honors Sen. Bellows for community contributions

Spectrum Generations named Sen. Shenna Bellows, D-Manchester, its 2019 Community Champion at the Annual Recognition Breakfast on Thursday morning, held at the Cohen Community Center in Hallowell.

“I was thrilled to receive the Community Champion award from Spectrum Generations this morning, but it is bittersweet knowing that there are 272 seniors on their waiting list for Meals on Wheels,” said Sen. Bellows. “We need to do more to support our seniors because we have a duty to serve those who’ve served us so well.”

In choosing Sen. Bellows for this award, Spectrum Generations Community Engagement Officer Stephanie Hanner noted that Sen. Bellows has long been involved with the Cohen Center, most recently helping with their Celebrity Chef Challenge last fall and supporting their Meals on Wheels efforts – including delivering meals to area residents.
