“As a life-long logger, I feel very strongly about the issues impacting Maine loggers. This recognition by the PLC is humbling, ” said State Sen. Troy Jackson (D-Allagash). “I can promise to make good on this award by continuing my work on logging issues. Until every Maine logger can find work and is getting paid fair wages job, I will fight hard for fairness for the Maine logger.”

Sen. Jackson served three terms in the House before joining the Senate for the 124th and 125th Legislatures. In the House, he chaired the Joint Standing Committee on Inland Fisheries and Wildlife and currently serves on the Governor’s Advisory Council on the Sustainability of the Forest Products Industry in Maine.

Since its conception in 1995, the PLC has focused on logger advocacy, safety, quality operations, and business operations. Their membership makes up over eighty percent of the logging capacity in the state of Maine.
