“There’s an important role that the Kennebec Historical Society and so many others like it play. They preserve the history that guides and instructs us. History gives us perspective in times of trouble. It provides lessons we apply to the work before us. It provides people and events that inspire us to rise to the challenges of our own time,” said Sen. Bellows. “The Kennebec Historical Society has done an amazing job in compiling an impressive collection of papers and artifacts – more than 19,000 items in total. But what it’s doing every day is providing tools to the society of today for the work we do today and into the future.”

Hon. Patsy Crockett, President of the KHS Board of Directors, and KHS Membership Committee Co-Chair Glenn Adams were present when the Senate passed the Joint Resolution.

A Joint Resolution expresses a special sentiment or opinion of the Legislature.
