Sen. Chip Curry sworn into Maine Senate
AUGUSTA — Earlier today, Sen. Chip Curry, D-Belfast, was sworn into the Maine Senate. Sen. Curry was elected to his third term in the Senate in November.
Gov. Janet Mills administered the oath of office to Sen. Curry and his Senate colleagues, all of whom have been elected to serve two-year terms. He represents the good people of Senate District 11, which includes all of the rural, coastal and island communities in Waldo County.
“It’s an honor to once again represent the hardworking people of Waldo County in the Maine Senate,” said Sen. Curry. “I look forward to continuing our work to strengthen rural communities, support working families and protect the natural beauty that makes this part of Maine so special.”
Sen. Curry represents all of Waldo County in the State Senate, where he fights for working families in Augusta. Chip and his wife, Christi, raised their family in Belfast, where he has spent his career as an educator and academic advisor.
The swearing-in ceremony was held in the Senate Chamber and attended by the Senators’ family and friends and the general public. A livestream of the event was made available to the general public and can be viewed online at http://legislature.maine.gov/senate/.
