“Maine workers should always be at the forefront of our work in the Legislature. It is critical that we do all we can to fight for their best interests in Augusta,” said Sen. Lawrence. “I am incredibly proud to have earned a perfect score from Maine AFL-CIO–and will continue to prioritize working people during the next session.”

Sen. Lawrence has a long track record of showing up and fighting for Maine workers and families. Particularly, as chair of the Legislature’s Energy, Utilities and Technology Committee, he played a key role in advocating for the inclusion of project labor agreements in new renewable energy projects. He also shepherded through a bill that will advance a floating offshore wind research project which will create new, good-paying jobs in Maine.

Founded in 1956, the Maine AFL-CIO is a state federation of more than 160 local labor unions, representing more than 40,000 Maine workers and retirees. The organization works to improve the lives and labor conditions of not just its members but working people all across the state.
