Sen. Lawrence visits Berwick Academy juniors and seniors

SOUTH BERWICK — On Wednesday, Sen. Mark Lawrence, D-Eliot,  met with Peter Lassey’s 11th grade and 12th grade American Politics class at Berwick Academy. Sen. Lawrence answered students’ questions about the role that he plays in the Maine State Legislature, spoke about issues that affect Maine, and shared how students can get involved in the public sector.

“I am incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to speak with students at Berwick Academy,” said Sen. Lawrence. “These students are clearly incredibly passionate about Maine, and have taken the time to research issues that are prominent in our state. It was a joy to be able to sit down and have a meaningful discussion with the leaders of tomorrow, as well as find about the younger generation’s perspective on politics, issues and the world around them. Thank you to the students, Mr. Lassey and the staff at Berwick Academy for having me.”

Senator Lawrence is serving his sixth non-consecutive term in the Maine State Senate. He represents District 35, which includes Eliot, Kittery, Ogunquit, South Berwick, York and part of Berwick.
