Sen. Tepler welcomes Richmond student, recipient of Legislative Memorial Scholarship

AUGUSTA – On Thursday, March 20, Sen. Denise Tepler, D-Topsham, presented Lauren Roinestad of Richmond with the 2025 Legislative Memorial Scholarship for Sagadahoc County. Roinestad received her scholarship award in the Maine Senate Chamber, accompanied by her parents and younger sister. Roinestad is a first-year student at the University of Maine at Orono studying Communications and New Media.

“It was my pleasure to welcome Lauren and her family here in Augusta today to celebrate her being awarded the Legislative Memorial Scholarship for Sagadahoc County,” said Sen. Tepler. “I’m glad that we can offer this opportunity to help Lauren continue her education, and I wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.”

The Legislative Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to one student from each of Maine’s counties.  The scholarship is awarded to students currently pursuing or planning to pursue an education at a two or four-year degree at a Maine college or technical school. The scholarship is administered through the Finance Authority of Mane (FAME).
