Sen. Tim Nangle sworn into Maine Senate

Posted: December 04, 2024 | Senator Nangle

AUGUSTA — Earlier today, Sen. Tim Nangle, D-Windham, was sworn into the Maine Senate. Sen. Nangle was elected to his second term in the Senate in November.

Gov. Janet Mills administered the oath of office to Sen. Nangle and his Senate colleagues, all of whom have been elected to serve two-year terms. He represents the good people of Senate District 26, which includes Casco, Frye Island, Raymond, Windham, and part of Westbrook.

“I am deeply grateful to my community for placing their trust in me again,” said Sen. Nangle. “Together, we will work to ensure a brighter future for our children, support our local businesses, and protect the unique character of our towns.”

Sen. Tim Nangle has called Maine home for over three decades and served 27 years as a Medcu paramedic with the Portland Fire Department. Following his time on the Windham Town Council, he was elected to his first term in the Maine Senate in 2022. During his first term, Sen. Nangle championed a new law empowering municipalities with additional tools to address shoreland zoning violations, preserving Maine’s tradition of local control.

The swearing-in ceremony was held in the Senate Chamber and attended by the senators’ family and friends and the general public. A live stream of the event was made available to the general public and can be viewed online at http://legislature.maine.gov/senate/.

The Legislature will reconvene at the start of the New Year. Learn more about Sen. Tim Nangle at www.mainesenate.org.
