AUGUSTA – Sen. Mike Tipping, D-Penobscot County, is pleased to announce the details of Maine’s three-year transportation infrastructure work plan, and what it means for Senate District 8. The plan is released annually with an outline of the Maine Department of Transportation’s strategy for road, bridge and other transportation upgrades and maintenance projects.

“Making investments in our infrastructure is one of the basic priorities – and responsibilities – of state government,” said Sen. Tipping. “I hope that these bridge and road projects will improve your lives, whether new paving will reduce the wear and tear on your vehicle or a new bridge will help you get to work or school more quickly.”

According to the MDOT, the work plan covers a historic $4.74 billion worth of construction and maintenance. This is thanks to a vital bipartisan investment approved in the Legislature last year. A more detailed breakdown of the statewide, three-year plan can be found here.
