AUGUSTA — Democratic Sen. Linda Valentino of Saco received an award from the Finance Authority of Maine, or FAME, in recognition of her steadfast dedication to helping Mainers pursue business and educational opportunities.

“I am humbled to receive this award and especially proud to have had the opportunity to work so closely with FAME over the years on legislation that helps Mainers achieve their goals,” Sen. Valentino said. “The work that is done at FAME is of vital importance to our state. FAME is one of the greatest resources in Maine to enable businesses to find financing and to make higher education more accessible and affordable.”

Over the course of her legislative career, Valentino has sponsored and supported a wide range of initiatives related to FAME, including additional bond funding for FAME’s commercial loan insurance and regional economic development loan programs, and measures to enhance and extend the Maine Seed Capital Tax Credit and Maine State Grant Programs.
