Sen. Diamond and Windham delegation share MDOT work plan for state bridge and road projects
AUGUSTA – Sen. Bill Diamond, D-Windham, and Windham representatives Rep. Mark Bryant and Rep. Pat Corey are pleased to announce the details of Maine’s three-year transportation infrastructure work plan, and what it means for Senate District 26, which includes the towns of Windham, Baldwin, Casco, Frye Island, Raymond and Standish. The plan is released annually with an outline of the Maine Department of Transportation’s strategy for road, bridge and other transportation upgrades and maintenance projects.
“Without safe and effective transportation infrastructure, Mainers would be stranded,” said Sen. Diamond. “As senate chair of the Legislature’s Transportation Committee, I have the great privilege of working closely on these issues and with the good folks at MDOT. These improvements to our local infrastructure will make a big difference for those who live in our community and for those who choose to visit, whether you drive, ride, bike or walk.”
“A state as geographically large as Maine depends on quality transportation infrastructure to ensure our communities run effectively and safely,” said Rep. Bryant. “Having served on the Transportation Committee for several years, I am extremely optimistic about what this plan means for our state moving forward. I am particularly excited about what is planned for our community of Windham and our neighboring towns.”
“I am pleased that the MDOT Work Plan includes improvements to infrastructure that promotes bicycle and pedestrian options,” said Rep. Corey. “I’ve watched increasing utilization of the Mountain Division Trail over the years and know how important it is for my constituents.”
